This site was created after the r/Autodetailing wiki on Reddit outgrew what the original platform could provide. We wanted full articles, images, and a better user experience so we expanded to a full website. How To Auto Detail (HTAD) has been around since 2018.
No. We list brands and products all over the place, but we do not have any sponsorships, corporate agreements, kickbacks, affiliates, advertising, or paid marketing. The professionals in our community are pro detailers who use various products and help us with recommendations based on experience.
The website hosting and maintenance is done out-of-pocket by Marissa as a hobby project. We used to take donations many years ago when the site was still new, but no longer do so.
